Application of Kitronyx's Pressure Distribution Measurement System for Fuel Cell Gasket Separator Plate Process
Purpose
A fuel cell consists of multiple unit cells and separator plates, with structures for supplying raw materials stacked together.
Among these, the gasket separator plate plays a crucial role within the unit cell by preventing the leakage of hydrogen gas and coolant, and mixing of hydrogen and oxygen, while also facilitating the stacking and separation between unit cells.
Therefore, the flatness of the gasket separator plate is an important indicator to determine its sealing capability and proper stacking performance.
For this reason, the SFC4300CX sensor has been applied to measure the pressure distribution across the surface of the gasket separator plate.
Results
Using the customer's pressurization equipment, we inserted the SFC4300CX between the gasket separator plate and the jig and applied pressure.
As a result, we were able to accurately determine the pressure distribution across the entire surface of the gasket separator plate.
This allowed us to introduce and manage an indicator for determining the flatness of the gasket separator plate, thereby enhancing the efficiency and reliability of the quality control system.
