Application of Kitronyx's Pressure Distribution Measurement System for Coating Process
Purpose
In the battery electrode process, the coating process is carried out after the mixing process.
In this process, the slurry made during the mixing process is thinly coated onto the foil.
At this time, uniform coating enhances battery performance and lifespan, so it is essential to maintain a consistent gap between the die and the roll.
To achieve this, the SFC4428 is used to measure and verify the pressure distribution between the die and the roll.
Results
By inserting the SFC4428 between the die and the roll, we confirmed the pressure distribution that occurs when the die advances.
Based on the measured pressure distribution data, it is expected that the appropriate gap between the die and the roll can be set and maintained.
Additionally, by using numerical values and images to establish pass/fail criteria, it is anticipated that equipment can be set up or maintained based on these criteria, enabling efficient quality control.
Expected Benefits and Applications
1. Ensuring Uniform Coating Quality
By maintaining an appropriate gap between the die and the roll, the uniform distribution of slurry is ensured, thereby improving coating quality.
2. Enhancing Battery Performance
Uniform coating contributes to optimizing the performance and lifespan of the battery. In particular, the uniform thickness of the
electrode creates a uniform current distribution, thereby increasing battery efficiency.
3. Streamlining Quality Control
Establishing pass/fail criteria using pressure distribution data enables systematic and efficient quality control.
