Pressure Mapping System VS Pressure Indicating Film Part II Sensitivity and COF (COP)

Picture
In previous post, we compare measurements of pressure mapping system and pressure indicating film.

We further compare pressure indicating film and pressure mapping system (pressure distribution measurement system).

At this time, dynamic pressure is applied to two measurement systems and results are compared.

Since pressure indicating film is designed for static pressure sensing, this device not suitable to measure dynamic pressure distribution measurement.

In addition, even though we used very sensitive pressure indicting film, it did not capture pressure mapping very well while pressure mapping system shows reasonable sensitivity in measuring pressure.

Pressure Mapping System VS Pressure Indicating Film
Force images from a pressure mapping system and pressure indicating film are compared.

MC1600 data acquisition electronics for FSR matrix sensors and MS9758 square FSR matrix sensor comprises a pressure mapping system.

In the video, it is clearly shown that two pressure map images are very similar. That is, pressure mapping systems are very useful digital counterpart of pressure indicating film.

Nip Roller Pressure Mapping Using Snowboard 2 and MS9723 FSR Matrix Sensor
Nip Roller Pressure Mapping
Snowboard 2 and MS9723 FSR (force sensing resistor) tactile matrix sensor are collectively used to sense the tilt and misalignment of nip roller.

Snowboard 2 is a very cheap data acquisition electronics for FSR matrix array sensors but enough to get pressure map data from MS9723 tactile sensor sandwiched between two rollers.

Smart Sensor Insole Development Kit MP2512 that has 160 FSR Force Sensing Resistor Sensors
In this video we show dynamic foot pressure mapping using our MP2512 smart sensor insole development kit.

MP2512 comes with two FSR (Force Sensing Resistor) sensor insoles which are insole shaped FSR matrix sensors. On the sensor 160 pressure sensing pixels are disposed to provide high resolution footprint force image.

This product also include Snowboard 2 – low cost pressure mapping electronics.

With Kitronyx API, a developer can easily capture foot pressure distribution data and send it to another application via TCP/IP.
