In this post, we would like to introduce Snowpad. We believe that this is a cool tool for your Arduino or microcontroller project.
What makes it different from other multi-touch trackpad is that it can be easily programmed by being connected to Arduino and microcontrollers.
It comes with capacitive multi-touch technology which are now popular in smartphones and tables and can detect up to 10 independent finger touches simultaneously. Of course, you can get all touch information such as xy information.
In the upper part of Snowpad, sockets compatible with Arduino Micro is places. You can just plug Arduino Micro into the socket and start your project.
Programming is done in Arduino IDE. Arduino is known to be a super-easy and flexible development platform. So, building your own multi-touch interface is a cup of cake.
Example codes and libraries written for Arduino will be provided. For example, a dozens of lines of code is enough to turn Snowpad into a real working multi-touch trackpad.
For a maker who wants to use other microcontroller, Snowpad is equiped with an external I2C interface. You can use your device you already have.
