Our touch development platform called Snowboard was assembled a few days ago and has been tested. We are very happy to let you know that all major features are functional properly.

Snowboard is designed to be a very versatile and affordable touch/tactile development platform. It has three primary features - pressure distribution measurement, analgog capacitive switch, and capacitive multi-touch.

In this post, we will briefly introduce photos of capacitive multi-touch and pressure distribution measurement of Snowboard.

Together with our Snowpad - a capacitive multi-touch track pad of our own, Snowboard is instantly turned into a capacitive multi-touch developmetn platform as shown above.

Besides capacitive multi-touch, it also supports a resistive matrix sensor. Traditionally, this kind of sensor has been popular to build a pressure distribution measurement system. In these days,  its application is being widen to include general multi-touch devices. Unlike capacitive multi-touch, an input device made of this kind of sensor can detect force/pressure which means that the device can provide more rich interaction. Snowboard supports 10x7 and 10x16 sensors and is able to gather raw pressure data from any resistive matrix sensor.
